Green Lawn's Wildlife
Green Lawn's Albino Squirrel

Creatures of all sizes have been seen and photographed throughout the 360 acres of Green Lawn. Like many other parks of Columbus, deer and woodchucks can often be sighted at Green Lawn. Less likely to be spotted, however, are the red fox and coyote, both of which have chosen this park as a home in recent years.

Another favorite resident of Green Lawn is the albino squirrel, seen often by the Brown Road gate and also near the Chapel. There are abundant natural food sources for many types of wildlife at Green Lawn, so if you decide to visit, don't be surprised at what you might find!

The photographs of wildlife displayed throughout the site are courtesy of Joe Raile, Sandy Sanders, Dr. Jim Davidson, and other park visitors.

Two features of Green Lawn, which have proven to be excellent bird watching sites, are the historic bridge and the stone-edged pond.

The bridge, now over a century old, was built in 1898 by the Fritz Rumer Cook Construction Company. The Decoration Day Parade photograph was taken from on top of the bridge in 1910.
