To assure that a Veteran has the privilege of burial in our Military Section it must be verified that he has been honorably discharged from the Branch in which he served. This verification would be noted on the discharge papers (DD214). Also, there may be a Service Certificate that would show the discharge status. With this verification a burial space is provided free of charge.
The Department of Veterans Affairs will provide a bronze memorial. The order form for this memorial is sent to Washington DC for processing and in a time frame of two to three months the memorial is shipped to the cemetery for installation. The placement fee is a cemetery charge to the family. The fee is nominal. This fee includes the concrete base on which the bronze is mounted and also a foundation upon which the memorial is placed.
