Does Green Lawn have burial plots available?

Yes. We currently have enough acreage to continue operating for another 100 hundred years.

Besides being a cemetery, what else is Green Lawn?

Green Lawn is not just a cemetery. We are also considered to be among the top bird watching spots in central Ohio. Additionally, Green Lawn is an arboretum with a variety of plants and trees, many of which are native to Ohio. Green Lawn is home to five State Champion trees. We also have a butterfly garden where many species of butterflies congregate each year for a splendid display of color.

Approximately 147,000.

How can I find information for a relative that I know is buried at Green Lawn?

If you know that your relative is buried at Green Lawn, you may call our office, write to us at 1000 Greenlawn Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43223 Attention: Genealogy, or send an e-mail with your specific question and we will provide as much information as we can.

What information should I have to find a burial record?

Ideally, you should have the first and last name of the deceased and their approximate year of death. All of our records are filed by year, so having the year (or approximate year) of death is imperative.

Can I get copies of the interment cards?

Yes. There is a $3.00 charge for each copy of a card. It is suggested that you call or e-mail your request prior to coming to the cemetery. (A limit of 3 names per request, please.) We can also mail the information to you. If you would like the information mailed, please send a letter with your request and a self-addressed stamped envelope to our office to the attention of the Genealogy Department. Allow 7-10 business days for a response. Please also include your phone number so we may contact you in case we have questions or regarding applicable charges.

We are always looking for people who want to spend time either in the field, in the office, or conducting tours of the cemetery for our First Saturday programs.
