The Green Lawn Cemetery Foundation, also known as the 'Friends of Green Lawn', is the fundraising arm of Green Lawn Cemetery. Donations to the 'Friends' have been used in the past to resurface roadways, fell dangerous or dying trees, straighten markers and monuments, purchase section markers throughout the Cemetery, for maintenance and repair of the historic public buildings in the park and to plant or replace trees.
The tax-exempt purpose of the Foundation is the preparation and dissemination to the public of literature educating the public on the historical, architectural, horticultural, arboreal and birding significance of Green Lawn Cemetery; preservation and enhancement of the historical heritage and arboreal, horticultural and avian environment of the cemetery; and preservation and enhancement of the public monuments, artworks and throughfares throughout the Cemetery.
The Foundation, too, is a non-profit organization, and is also responsible for coordinating all volunteer activities. For those who wish to assist the park, donations may be made directly to the cemetery or to the 'Friends of Green Lawn'.
